The Race Team

Edison2 comes from racing.  Founder Oliver Kuttner has been an active member of the motor sports community for over 20 years and his core team has over 20 victories at Le Mans, Sebring and Daytona. This racing experience was essential to the Edison2’s X Prize success and continues to influence the development of the Very Light Car.

Role on team: Crew Chief

How did you become involved? I worked closely with Ron Mathis in the 1980’s for ADA engineering. We kept in touch over the years as we both continued in racing. Ron called me and got me interested in Edison2.

Name: Bobby Mouzayck

Hometown: Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Role on team: Mechanics, Composites, and Design

How did you become involved? I worked with Ron Mathis at Audi North America and he recommended me to Oliver.

Name: LeRoy White

Hometown: Point Loma, CA

Role on team: Fabricator

How did you become involved? Kevin Doran (Doran Racing) recommended me to Oliver.

Name: Reg Schmeiss           

Hometown: Hemet, CA (originally from Hahndoif, Australia)

Role on team: Composite Specialist

How did you become involved? I had worked on a number of projects that Oliver had been involved with and knew a number of the other team members when Oliver asked me to join.

Role on team: Logistics Support

How did you become involved? I've been working for Oliver in a variety of capacities for a number of years, and when he became involved in the X Prize, he offered me a position on the race team.

How did you become involved? Oliver found me through my employer, Essex Racing.

Role on team: Machinist

How did you become involved? I worked on a car project for Oliver in the 90’s. We kept in touch and reconnected when got involved in Lynchburg real estate a few years ago.
